Police arrest 3 including Hemant Sikaria for investment fraud
Following the incident at Kasba College, Kolkata Police has directed all police stations to conduct a comprehensive security audit of every college within their jurisdiction. Police Commissioner Manoj Verma has issued written instructions to all Officers-in-Charge (OCs) to personally inspect college campuses and assess existing security arrangements, including the condition and coverage of CCTV cameras.
As per the directive, each OC must evaluate the number of CCTV cameras, their operational status, and whether they provide adequate coverage of all sensitive areas within college premises. The report is to be submitted to police headquarters on a regular basis. Additionally, the directive mandates the verification and submission of identification documents for all security personnel deployed at colleges to their respective police stations.
Colleges have been instructed to ensure that all security guards are verified and trained before being deployed. The inspection will also look into the presence of blind spots on campuses and the functioning of security protocols at gates and high-traffic areas. The instructions were issued in the backdrop of concerns raised regarding safety infrastructure in educational institutions.
